A number of technology companies to react against anti-immigrant policy of the newly proclaimed by the President of the United States (US), Donald Trump.
The responses given were varied, ranging from internal memos to personalized action as practiced by President Alphabet, Sergey Brin.
Anti-immigrant policies that proclaimed Trump causing mixed reactions from US citizens, mainly immigrants. Even Sergey Brin who are immigrants from Moscow, joined protesters at the San Francisco International Airport, to reject the policy.
The technology industry is one of those who reject the Trump policy, moreover, a number of large technology companies in the US led by immigrants.
One by one technology company was reacting to the executive order (the executive order) signed by Trump last week, which closed the US border from refugee and population of Muslim majority countries, namely Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, and Libya.
With regards to immigrants, following four immigrants in the US become the world technology giant boss.
1. Sergey Brin
Men's full name Mikhaylovich Sergey Brin was born in Moscow on August 21, 1973. Along with Larry Page, he founded Google. She now serves as president of the parent company Google, Alphabet.
Brin was born to Russian Jewish descent, Yevgenia and Mikhail Brin. He immigrated to the US with his family from the Soviet Union, at the age of 16 years.
Uncle Sam's in the State Brin met Page or rather as an undergraduate at Stanford University, where he earned a PhD in computer science.
As an immigrant, Brin felt compelled to take part in a demonstration of anti-immigrant policies that will be applied by Trump. But in the protests along with other protesters a few days ago, he insists that his actions were a personal matter and has nothing to do with Google or Alphabet.
2. Sundar Pichai
Sundar Pichai currently serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Google. He condemned the anti-immigrant policies Trump, because votes can inhibit the great talents coming to the US.
Pichai was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, from a couple Lakshmi and Ragunatha Pichai. He spent his childhood in Madras, now Chennai.
After graduating from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Pichai continuing education at Stanford University, and eventually worked and became a US citizen.
Google itself has predicted that many employees are affected by the new policy Trump. The Wall Street Journal noted, there are at least 187 Googlers who work and live in the United States, will be affected by the immigration policy.
The company is headquartered in Mountain View that has called the employees who are outside the country to immediately return to the US.
3. Satya Nadella
Naraya Satya Nadella (Satya Nadella) great attention when he was appointed to lead Microsoft, particularly in his homeland of India. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Micorosft was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, 49 years ago.
After graduating from the Manipal Institute of Technology in 1988, Nadella moved to the US to continue their education. He is the alma mater of computer science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and obtained his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Just as a number of officials of other technology companies, Nadella helped open sound policy response to Trump. Through his LinkedIn account, Nadella wrote, "As an immigrant and CEO, I've experienced it yourself and see the positive impact of immigrants to our company, the country and the world. We will always support this important topic."
4. Jan Koum
CEO WhatsApp, Jan Koum, an immigrant from Ukraine. The man who was born in Kyiv on February 24, 1976 have grown in Fastiv, before moving with his mother and grandmother to the Mountain View, California, USA, in 1992.
When moved to the US at age 16, Koum and his family had to struggle to survive. In fact they never rely on free food coupons in Mountain View, rather just a few blocks from the central office WhatsApp.
Koum continue to struggle in the land of Uncle Sam, until finally reap success thanks to the application WhatsApp, which is made with Brian Acton. WhastApp now under the auspices of Facebook, after being acquired in 2014.
